Netflix is implementing its plan to remove the cheapest ad-free plan for existing subscribers. As noted in several Reddit posts, Netflix is now asking some Basic subscribers to choose a new plan to stay on Netflix.

One Reddit user received a message in their Netflix app saying "Your last day to watch Netflix is July 13th. Choose a new plan to watch." Subscribers who pay $11.99 per month for the basic plan must choose either the $6.99 ad-supported tier, the $15.49 ad-free tier, or the $22.99 ad-free Premium 4K.

Based on posts on Reddit, it appears that most of the users in question are located in Canada or the UK, which follows Netflix's plan to remove the basic tier: Netflix announced in January that it would remove the tier. to existing subscribers in the second quarter of this year, starting in Canada and the United Kingdom. The streamer's pricing page in both Canada and the UK states that "the basic plan has been discontinued" and that "you can change your plan at any time."Last year, Netflix ended its Basic plan for new or returning members in the US, Canada and the UK.
